JUDE

The Book of Jude is a short, yet urgent letter written by Jude, a brother of James and Jesus. Its main purpose is to alert early Christian communities to the presence of dangerous false teachers who have secretly entered their midst. These individuals were twisting God's kindness into an excuse for immoral behaviour and denying the authority of Jesus Christ. Jude strongly encourages believers to stand firm and actively defend the true Christian faith that was given to them. To emphasise the seriousness of the situation, he provides examples from history and scripture where God justly punished disobedience—like the unfaithful Israelites, rebellious angels, and the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. The letter also gives guidance on how to remain strong in faith and how to help others who might be influenced by these deceivers, always looking forward to God's mercy leading to eternal life.
