JEREMIAH: CHAPTER 43

After Jeremiah delivers God's final message, warning the people not to go to Egypt, several proud leaders, including Azariah and Johanan, accuse him of lying and being influenced by Baruch. They refuse to obey the Lord's command to stay in Judah. Instead, they gather all the remaining people of Judah, including Jeremiah and Baruch, and force them to move to Egypt. Once they arrive in Tahpanhes, Egypt, God gives Jeremiah another prophetic message. Jeremiah is instructed to bury large stones as a sign that Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, will come and conquer Egypt, setting his throne on those very stones, destroying Egyptian idols and temples.
