JEREMIAH
The book of Jeremiah chronicles the prophetic ministry of Jeremiah, who was called by God during the final, tumultuous decades of the kingdom of Judah. His primary mission was to declare God's urgent warnings to the people and their rulers about the severe consequences of their ongoing rebellion and idolatry. Jeremiah foretold the imminent destruction of Jerusalem and the forced exile to Babylon, persistently calling for repentance even as the nation hurtled towards its downfall. Despite facing intense opposition, rejection, and personal suffering, Jeremiah faithfully delivered messages of impending judgement, yet also included glimpses of future restoration and a renewed covenant, emphasising God's ultimate plan for justice and mercy beyond the present devastation.
