1 SAMUEL: CHAPTER 21

This chapter finds David on the run, escaping from King Saul, who is determined to kill him. David arrives in Nob, where he deceives the priest Ahimelech into giving him holy bread and Goliath's sword, pretending to be on a secret royal mission. After leaving Nob, David seeks refuge in Gath, a Philistine city, but he is recognised and fears for his life. To escape, David pretends to be insane, which causes the Philistine king to send him away. The chapter ends with David fleeing to the Cave of Adullam, where his family comes to join him.
