2 CHRONICLES: CHAPTER 13

This chapter tells the story of a major war between King Abijah of Judah and King Jeroboam of Israel. Despite being significantly outnumbered, King Abijah bravely delivers a powerful speech to Jeroboam and the Israelite army. In his speech, he reminds them of God's unbreakable promise to King David's family and points out Jeroboam's rebellion, his false gods (golden calves), and his unauthorised priests. Abijah emphasises that Judah has remained faithful to the true God and His proper worship. When the battle begins, Judah finds themselves ambushed, but they cry out to the Lord. God intervenes, giving Judah a stunning victory over Israel, leading to a massive defeat for Jeroboam's army and the capture of several Israelite cities. The chapter concludes with Jeroboam's weakening and eventual death, while Abijah's power and family grow.
