MICAH: CHAPTER 7

Micah Chapter 7 opens with the prophet expressing deep sadness and lament over the extreme moral decay and widespread corruption throughout the land, where good people are scarce and betrayal is rampant, even within families. Amidst this despair, the prophet declares his personal unwavering trust in the Lord, resolving to wait for God's salvation and justice. He challenges his enemies, confident that God will restore him from darkness and bring about His righteousness. The chapter then shifts to a hopeful prophecy of future restoration for Jerusalem, where its walls will be rebuilt, and its people will return from all directions. It includes a prayer for God to shepherd His flock, promising that God will perform marvellous acts reminiscent of the Exodus, which will awe and humble the nations. The chapter concludes with a beautiful hymn of praise, celebrating God's unique character as a compassionate and forgiving God who delights in mercy, subdues sin, and casts all transgressions into the depths of the sea.
