MICAH: CHAPTER 6

Micah Chapter 6 describes a powerful scene where God puts His people, Israel, on trial. He calls on the mountains and the earth to witness His case. God asks His people what He has ever done wrong to them, reminding them instead of His faithfulness in rescuing them from Egypt and guiding them. The people, confused, then ask what kind of grand sacrifices they can offer to please God. But God clearly states that He doesn't want countless offerings or even their children. Instead, He wants them to act justly, love kindness, and walk humbly with Him. However, because the people have chosen to be violent, dishonest, and to cheat each other, God declares that He will bring severe consequences upon them. Their efforts will fail, their food won't satisfy, and their land will be ruined as a result of their disobedience and following evil leaders.
