1 PETER: CHAPTER 5

This final chapter of Peter's letter offers guidance and encouragement to the church leaders and all believers. Peter urges the elders to lovingly shepherd God's people, serving willingly and as good examples, not as bosses. He reminds them that Jesus, the Chief Shepherd, will reward them. He then tells younger members to respect their elders and calls everyone to be humble towards each other and before God, promising that God will lift them up at the right time. Believers are encouraged to cast their worries on God because He cares for them. Peter warns them to stay alert and clear-headed because their enemy, the devil, is actively trying to cause trouble. He reassures them that God, after a short period of suffering, will make them perfect, steady, strong, and firm. The letter concludes with a doxology (praise to God) and greetings from Peter's companions.
