2 CHRONICLES: CHAPTER 15

Chapter 15 of 2 Chronicles describes a time of great spiritual renewal during the reign of King Asa of Judah. It begins with a prophet named Azariah delivering a powerful message from God, encouraging Asa to be faithful and warning of consequences for abandoning the Lord. Inspired by this prophecy, King Asa takes bold steps to remove all forms of idol worship from the land and repair God's altar. He then gathers all the people of Judah and Benjamin, along with many who had come from other parts of Israel, for a grand assembly in Jerusalem. There, they all make a solemn promise to seek the Lord with their whole hearts. This act of dedication brings great joy and a long period of peace to the kingdom. Asa even removes his own grandmother from her royal position because of her idolatry. The chapter concludes by noting Asa's lifelong commitment to God and the lasting peace that followed their dedication.
