2 CORINTHIANS: CHAPTER 5

Chapter 5 of 2 Corinthians discusses the Christian hope for a future heavenly body and the transition from earthly life to eternal life with God. Paul emphasises that believers have an eternal home awaiting them, which makes them confident even in the face of suffering in their current bodies. He explains that while we live by faith, not by what we can see, our ultimate goal is to please God and be present with Him. The chapter then shifts to the universal judgement seat of Christ, where everyone will be held accountable for their actions. This understanding drives Paul and his companions to persuade others about God's ways. He then outlines the profound concept of reconciliation: how God, through Christ, brought humanity back into a right relationship with Himself, not counting their sins against them. This message of reconciliation is now entrusted to believers, who act as Christ's representatives, urging others to accept God's offer of peace and righteousness.
