ISAIAH: CHAPTER 47

Isaiah Chapter 47 is a strong prophecy against Babylon, predicting its complete downfall and humiliation. Once a powerful and arrogant empire that felt untouchable, Babylon is told it will be stripped of its glory, forced into servitude, and exposed to shame. The chapter highlights God's anger at Babylon's cruelty towards His people and its pride, especially its reliance on magic, astrology, and its belief that it would rule forever. God declares that Babylon's destruction will be sudden and total, and that all its supposed wisdom and magical protectors will be utterly useless to save it. The chapter ends by emphasising Babylon's isolation and helplessness as its allies and advisors abandon it.
