DANIEL: CHAPTER 4

This chapter is a personal letter from King Nebuchadnezzar to all the people of the world. In it, he tells his own story about how the Most High God worked in his life. He recounts a terrifying dream he had about a massive tree that was commanded to be cut down, with only its stump remaining. Daniel, the prophet, interpreted this dream, explaining that the tree represented Nebuchadnezzar himself and that his pride would lead to a period of madness where he would live like an animal. This period would last until he learned to acknowledge God's supreme authority over all human kingdoms. The king's prophecy came true, and he suffered greatly. However, after a set time, his sanity returned, and he then praises God, recognising Him as the true ruler of the universe who can humble the proud.
