DANIEL: CHAPTER 6

This chapter tells the famous story of Daniel in the lion's den. King Darius appoints Daniel as one of his top three administrators, and Daniel's outstanding wisdom and integrity quickly make him the king's favourite. This sparks intense jealousy among the other officials, who scheme to remove Daniel. They realise Daniel is faultless in his work, so they trick the king into signing an unbreakable law that forbids praying to anyone but the king for thirty days. Daniel, however, continues his daily prayers to God, knowing full well the decree. His enemies catch him and report him to the king. Despite the king's deep regret and efforts to save Daniel, he is bound by the law and must cast Daniel into the lion's den. The next morning, the king rushes to the den and finds Daniel miraculously unharmed, as God sent an angel to shut the lions' mouths. Overjoyed, the king orders Daniel's release and has his accusers, along with their families, thrown into the den, where they are immediately devoured by the lions. King Darius then issues a worldwide decree praising Daniel's God and acknowledging His supreme power. Daniel continues to prosper under the reigns of Darius and Cyrus.
