1 CHRONICLES: CHAPTER 17

This chapter details a significant conversation between King David and the prophet Nathan. David expresses his desire to build a permanent temple for God, as he himself lives in a grand palace while God's sacred ark resides in a tent. Initially, Nathan encourages David. However, that same night, God speaks to Nathan, revealing that David is not the one chosen to build the temple. Instead, God reaffirms His covenant with David, promising to establish David's dynasty (family line) forever, ensure his son builds the temple, and bless Israel with a secure homeland. David responds with a powerful prayer of humility and gratitude, acknowledging God's unique greatness and asking for His promises to be fulfilled, so that God's name might be glorified.
