NUMBERS: CHAPTER 21

Numbers Chapter 21 describes several key events as the Israelites continued their journey through the wilderness. It begins with the Israelites defeating King Arad, who attacked them. Later, the people grew impatient and complained about their challenging travels, lack of food, and water. As a result, God sent poisonous snakes that bit and killed many. After the people repented, God instructed Moses to create a bronze serpent; anyone bitten by a snake who looked at this bronze serpent was healed. The chapter then details their further travels and encampments. It also recounts two major military victories: first, over King Sihon of the Amorites, who refused passage and attacked them, leading to Israel taking his land. Second, Israel defeated King Og of Bashan, again taking possession of his territory east of the Jordan River.
