2 CHRONICLES: CHAPTER 19

Chapter 19 of 2 Chronicles details King Jehoshaphat's return to Jerusalem after a military campaign, where he is confronted by a prophet named Jehu who rebukes him for helping an ungodly king. Despite the warning of God's displeasure, the prophet also acknowledges Jehoshaphat's good deeds. Following this, Jehoshaphat undertakes significant reforms within Judah, establishing a comprehensive and fair justice system across the land. He appoints judges in all the cities, emphasising that their judgements are on behalf of God, not merely for humans. He also sets up a special court in Jerusalem with Levites, priests, and family leaders to handle both religious and civil disputes, instructing them to act with integrity and reverence for the LORD.
