2 CHRONICLES: CHAPTER 31

Chapter 31 describes King Hezekiah's deep commitment to restoring proper worship after the great Passover celebration. The people, inspired by the revival, went throughout the land of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh to destroy all pagan idols, altars, and sacred poles. Hezekiah then meticulously reorganised the duties of the priests and Levites for temple service and provided for the regular sacrifices from his own wealth. He commanded the people to support the temple workers through offerings and tithes, which they did so generously that massive piles of provisions accumulated. Hezekiah then established an organised system for storing and distributing these supplies fairly among the priests, Levites, and their families, ensuring everyone involved in the Lord's service was well-provided for. The chapter concludes by commending Hezekiah's sincere heart and success in all his endeavours for God.
