2 CHRONICLES: CHAPTER 32

2 Chronicles Chapter 32 portrays the triumphant deliverance of Jerusalem under King Hezekiah during the terrifying siege of Sennacherib of Assyria. Faced with an invincible military machine and psychological warfare mocking the God of Israel, Hezekiah fortifies the city, secures the water supply, and inspires his people with unshakable faith: 'With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles.' When Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah cry out in prayer, an angel of the Lord destroys the Assyrian army in a single night. The chapter demonstrates that no crisis or intimidation can overcome those whose trust is securely rooted in the Almighty, while also warning us through Hezekiah's later brush with pride to maintain humble gratitude for God’s deliverance.
