NEHEMIAH: CHAPTER 4

Chapter 4 of Nehemiah describes the intense opposition faced by the Jewish people as they continued to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Sanballat and Tobiah, along with other regional adversaries, grew increasingly angry as the wall progressed, resorting to mockery, threats, and ultimately planning a military attack to stop the work. Nehemiah responded by praying to God for help, but also by taking practical steps: organising the people for defence, arming the workers, and establishing a constant guard. Despite the discouragement among the people and the constant threat, Nehemiah encouraged them to remember God and fight for their families, ensuring that the work continued with everyone ready to defend themselves at a moment's notice.
