HEBREWS: CHAPTER 2

This chapter warns believers not to drift away from the amazing message of salvation brought by Jesus, which God Himself confirmed with miraculous signs. It then explains why Jesus, who is far superior to angels, chose to become human for a time. By taking on human flesh and blood, Jesus shared in our experiences, including suffering and death. This was necessary so He could defeat the devil, who held the power of death, and free humanity from its fear. Through His humanity, Jesus became a compassionate and trustworthy High Priest, able to forgive sins and fully understand and help us when we face temptations, because He experienced them Himself.
