NUMBERS: CHAPTER 9

Numbers Chapter 9 focuses on two main topics. First, it records the Israelites' observance of the Passover festival for the first time after their exodus from Egypt, taking place in the Sinai wilderness. It addresses a specific situation where some individuals were ritually impure and couldn't participate, leading God to establish a special provision: a "second Passover" a month later for those who were unclean or far away. This ensured everyone had an opportunity to fulfil the command. The second part of the chapter describes God's direct guidance of the Israelites' journey through the desert. A mysterious cloud covered the Tabernacle by day and appeared as fire by night, serving as God's signal for when the people should set up camp and when they should pack up and move. This demonstrated God's constant presence and leadership over His people.
