EZEKIEL: CHAPTER 36

Ezekiel chapter 36 delivers a powerful message of hope and restoration for the land and people of Israel. God begins by addressing the mountains of Israel, promising to vindicate them against the surrounding nations who mocked and claimed their desolate land. He declares His fierce jealousy and anger against these nations and pledges to bring the exiled Israelites back to their homeland. The land will once again become fruitful, productive, and teeming with people and animals. God clarifies that this grand restoration is not due to Israel's righteousness, but rather to protect His own holy name, which was disgraced among the nations by Israel's dispersion and sin. He promises a profound inner transformation, giving His people new hearts and spirits, cleansing them from their impurities, and enabling them to follow His laws. The chapter concludes with a vision of a rebuilt and flourishing land, like the Garden of Eden, filled with a multiplied population, all demonstrating to the surrounding world that He is the sovereign Lord who rebuilds and restores.
