EZEKIEL: CHAPTER 13

Ezekiel Chapter 13 is a powerful condemnation of false prophets and prophetesses in Israel. God declares these individuals are foolish and deceptive because they speak their own made-up messages and visions instead of truly hearing from Him. He compares their false promises of peace to building a weak, unstable wall and covering it with cheap, ineffective plaster. God announces that He will send a destructive storm to dismantle this deceptive "wall" and expose the lies of those who built it, bringing judgement upon them. The chapter also targets female prophets who use special clothing items, like armbands and head coverings, as tools to mislead people and profit from their fears, promising life to the undeserving and despair to the innocent. God promises to strip away these deceptive practises and free His people from their influence, ensuring everyone understands that He alone is the true Lord.
