JOSHUA: CHAPTER 10

Chapter 10 of Joshua recounts a major battle where God intervenes miraculously to help the Israelites conquer their enemies. When the king of Jerusalem hears that Joshua has defeated Ai and that Gibeon has made peace with Israel, he gathers four other Amorite kings to attack Gibeon. Gibeon appeals to Joshua for help. Joshua and his army march all night to rescue Gibeon. God helps Israel in an amazing way, sending large hailstones from the sky to destroy the enemy, and then, at Joshua's request, makes the sun and moon stand still for an entire day, giving Israel enough time to completely defeat the five kings and their armies. After the battle, the captured kings are executed, and Joshua continues to conquer several key cities in the southern region of Canaan, demonstrating God's power and faithfulness to Israel.
