ROMANS: CHAPTER 1

In this opening chapter, Paul introduces himself as a dedicated messenger of Jesus Christ, chosen to spread God's good news. He expresses his deep desire to visit the Christians in Rome, sharing his prayers for them and his longing to offer spiritual encouragement and receive some in return. Paul then boldly declares that he is not ashamed of the Gospel message because it is God's powerful method for saving everyone who believes, whether they are Jewish or not. He explains that this message reveals how God makes people righteous through faith. However, Paul also describes how humanity has turned away from God. Even though God's existence and power are clearly visible in the world He created, people chose not to honour or thank Him. Instead, they embraced foolish ideas and started worshipping created things rather than the Creator. Because of their choices, God allowed them to follow their own sinful desires, leading to widespread immorality, including unnatural sexual behaviours and a long list of wicked attitudes and actions.
